Debita Harripersaud qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2001 in Kingston, Jamaica at the University of the West Indies. She later went on to specialize in and received her Masters of Science in Sports and Exercise Medicine (Physiotherapy) at the same institution.

With just over 17 years working in the health field, prior to joining Ace Sports, Debita has served in various rehabilitative capacities. Her experience is vast and ranges from acute care to inpatient hospital settings, private orthopaedic clinics to adult neurological rehabilitation centres, on field sports management, team rehabilitation to sports injury prevention and performance enhancement facilities. She has served as team Physiotherapist for the Men’s Senior Cricket and Soccer Teams for Guyana and Jamaica.

Debita has continued to enhance her knowledge and skills through post graduate education, including courses in joint mobility, soft tissue techniques, K taping, exercise therapy for orthopaedic and cardiopulmonary conditions. Her areas of expertise are in Sports and Exercise Medicine with special interest in Hydrotherapy and Diabetes Education including wound healing. She has certifications in both Hydrotherapy and Wound Healing from CARI and the University of Toronto respectively.

Her current treatment approach is largely evidence-based and is a unique blend of manual techniques, modalities and education all targeted at maximizing client function, enhancing performance and encouraging long-term self management.

Sporting Background: Lifelong swimmer - competed nationally at the junior level and now recreationally; Bowler in softball cricket - competed at senior women national level.
